Hard to see, but this guy was coming upstairs while we were coming down. He asked me to hold the door. Since this place is also a music school, lots of people were coming in and out with instruments, so I thought nothing of it. That was until I got a better look at the guitar. This is the same guitar that Mike just got done playing on stage like 5 to 10 minutes ago. I wanted to touch it so badly, but didn’t incase I did and broke it.
“Laugh Kills Lonesome” from last night’s (4-6-13) show in Chicago at the Old Town School of Folk Music.
Is it possible to listen to Nez’s “Tonite” without doing jazz hands at the end?
I think not.
Okay, I’m glad I’m not the only one who does that.
There’s the gif I’m looking for!
To my mind, jazz hands are practically a requirement.
Love the jazz hands.
So Nez in concert is life changing. I’ve been trying to come up with the words to describe it for the past 24 hours and I don’t think I have them. I had front row tickets and it was a real pleasure to watch him sing and play. He didn’t use his iPad for lyrics at all I don’t think- yes for the…
When he played, it was like he was seeing the tableau that he described in his mind. So I’m not the only one who saw that, even from all the way up on the balcony.
Eeee, it’s the cutest little lady in the world! :D
Jessica! :)
She is such a sweetheart. Glad I got to talk to her for a minute and get a pic with her.
After the Chicago show, we had a chance to chat with two members of Nez’s band—Joe (bass) and Paul (drums). I mentioned the Television Parts Home Companion and Joe said that he and Paul were in the Busker Sketch. I had no idea! So later, I pulled it up to show to JBear and we happily squealed: “It IS them!” :D So here’s the sketch. It’s one of my faves from the compilation.
(If you get a chance to talk to the bandmembers, DO. Because they’re pretty righteous dudes.)When Joe and Paul found out we all live in the same area, Paul asked us to take him home with us. :)
No wonder they both looked so familiar! I kept looking at them and wondering where I’d seen them. I just watched TP last week so it must haveodged in my brain. That’s awesome!
I passed them in the hall and forgot to stop to talk to them and get a picture. The whole band was great. I found myself watching them at times instead of watching Nez.
